Test: Pronunciation of “home page” and variations

Last updated: 04 October 2006

Notes

Over time, the phrase "home page" has been shortened to coin the word "homepage" to refer to the opening page of a website. Alas, screen readers may have difficulty in pronouning that as a word.

It is rumoured that JAWS will speak the word "homepage" as "hommapidge". This test aims to discover how different screen readers cope with the word and to suggest remedies for problems that arise.

Tests

  1. homepage
